Orthotics is that branch of medical science that deals with the limbs of the body, especially the lower limbs. It helps in the activation of the lower limbs and elimination of any unease that might be agonizing the sufferer to some extent. It promises a good deal of limb treatment so that the foundation of your body structure remains strong. How does it work?
In the beginning you will be made to stretch your limbs which no doubt increases the elasticity of the muscles as well as the nerves and helps in easing the pain a bit. There are 4 basic stretches that you are made to practice. These are namely sitting foot stretches, wall leg stretches, step extends and planter ligament massage.
- Sitting foot stretches- In this process, you are made to sit and then stretch your limbs one by one. It may seem painful at first, but gradually it gets easier.
- Wall leg stretches- My friend says, “in this, I was made to hold the wall for support and then I was made to stretch my legs one after another. This gave me a much needed relief”
- Step extend- In this thing, you are made to take longer steps than necessary so that the blood flow in your limbs occur more.
- Planter Ligament massages- This massage is useful in increasing the elasticity of your ligaments.
